The Indonesian President Mr. Joko Widodo announced 2019 a plan to relocate the new capital city to East Kalimantan Province and this idea has been well received and approved by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. The relocation aims to reduce the burden of Jakarta city as Indonesia’s primary hub and dismiss the Java centric era as well as to build equal development across the country.
