Team Finland and Business Finland's Smart Green Ports USA Export Booster is organizing a business delegation visit to Los Angeles, USA on 18-21 September 2022 led by Ms. Minna Kivimäki, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Communications.
During the same time, 18-22 September, 2022, Los Angeles is hosting the ITS World Congress and Exhibition, the premier event in intelligent transportation.
The upcoming delegation focuses on smart port technologies, logistics and green transport technologies surrounding ports. We invite Finnish companies developing connectivity, network, logistics and port digitalization solutions to join the delegation. The delegation will meet Los Angeles area ports' representatives as well as the leading port terminal operators. The visit will bring Finnish companies together with American businesses in the ports, logistics, mobility and connectivity sectors.
Team Finland will host a high-level reception and networking event for the Finnish and American ports, logistics and mobility industries, during the delegation. The delegation will also attend a networking meeting with the leading mobility industry players from the State of Michigan. Finland and Michigan have signed a MoU, a collaboration agreement on green technologies, mobility and marine industries.
In addition to participating in the delegation, your company may choose to join the Nordic+ Pavilion at the ITS World Congress. Nordic+ Pavilion is a joint booth at the congress exhibition area that brings together ITS companies and organizations from Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Norway, and Sweden. ITS Finland is one of the main organizers of the Nordic+ Pavilion, in cooperation with other Nordic+ ITS associations.
Who should attend?
This delegation visit is aimed for Finnish companies interested in ports and logistics' related projects and entering the U.S. market, as well as companies offering new green or digital transport, logistics or networks' solutions.
Practicalities
For participation, you can select option 1, 2 or 3, as described underneath:
OPTION 1: Participation in the delegation only: To cover the expenses of joining the delegation, Business Finland will charge a participation fee:
- Micro Businesses and SMEs: 1445 EUR + 24% VAT per person
- Major Companies: 1700 EUR + 24% VAT per person
OPTION 2: Participation in the Nordic+ Pavilion only: To cover the expenses of joining the Nordic+ Pavilion, ITS Finland will charge a participation fee:
- Pavilion partnership package: 5000 EUR
Participation in the Nordic+ Pavilion includes an exhibition pass for the ITS World Congress and Exhibition. For more information, please see the invite, registration process and detailed information on the participation fees through this link.
OPTION 3: Participation in both, the delegation and the Nordic+ Pavilion: In addition to the pavilion partnership package price mentioned above to join the Nordic+ Pavilion, Business Finland will charge an additional 1200 EUR + 24% VAT per person to join the delegation.
Please note that the delegation participation fee does not include passes to the ITS World Congress and Exhibition. There will be time reserved in the delegation program for the delegation participants to visit the ITS exhibition and congress. You may register to the exhibition and / or conference and find participation fees through this link. ITS Finland has negotiated a discount for Finnish participants, more information to follow for registered participants.
For joining the delegation part of the program, Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
