Team Finland network organizes a business delegation visit to Mexico on 13-16 March 2023 led by Ms. Nina Vaskunlahti, Under-Secretary of State for International Trade, Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The visit will focus on three sectors: industrial energy efficiency, circular economy with a focus on waste management, and ICT & cybersecurity.
Mexico, a constantly growing upper middle-income economy of 130 million inhabitants, is strategically located south of the largest market in the world as well as in close proximity of many growing economies in Latin America. In addition to the sales opportunities provided by the Mexican market and beyond, the country presents excellent potential for manufacturing diversification from for example Russia or Asia. Mexico offers a large and fairly skilled workforce, investment incentives provided by state authorities, good logistics and access to surrounding markets, and an acceptably stable business environment.
On energy efficiency and circular economy, Mexico is a signatory of the Paris Climate Agreement and committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. The largely under-developed waste management sector offers great business opportunities from many different angles. Digitalization comes highly prioritized by the government and out of necessity brings with it an increasing focus on cybersecurity.
Who should attend?
This Team Finland delegation visit is offered to Finnish companies operating in industrial energy efficiency, circular economy with a focus on waste management, as well as ICT and cybersecurity, with an interest to explore business opportunities in Mexico, be it sales, manufacturing, B2G-projects or other initiatives.
During four days in Mexico, there will be high-level government meetings and business matchmaking events, as well as seminars or other platforms for knowledge and innovation sharing. In addition to visiting the capital México City, the delegation will visit the industrial center of Monterrey further north in the country.
Practicalities
To cover the expenses of arranging the program in Mexico, Business Finland will charge a maximum participation fee of:
- Major companies: EUR 2400 + 24% VAT per person
- SME's and Micro businesses: EUR 2040 + 24% VAT per person
Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
