Business Finland, the Embassy of Finland in Lisbon and the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (IAPMEI) have organized two events during the past year to present the business opportunities to decarbonize the Portuguese industries and the collaboration and solutions that Finnish companies can offer. After these successful events, as a continuum, the Team Finland network will organize a Business Delegation visit to Lisbon, Portugal on 14-17 November 2022.

The purpose of the visit is to further deepen the cooperation between Finnish and Portuguese actors and bring together Finnish companies, who can decarbonize industries, and Portuguese companies and players, who are looking for decarbonizing solutions to stay competitive. This visit is led by Mr. Petri Peltonen, Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

The Portuguese Resilience and Recovery Plan (RRF) incentive system will support implementing Portugal's decarbonization roadmap in practice. The RRF part allocated for decarbonization of industries, worth 715 million Euros in non-refundable subsidies, supports up to 100% of the expenses of various projects that incorporate electrification of final energy consumption, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This visit is targeted at Finnish companies who have solutions to decarbonize industries. Portugal, on the other hand, has multiple business opportunities regarding decarbonizing industries especially in these industry sectors: Food & beverage, Steel & metals, Chemical industry and Pulp & paper.

The visit program will include, for example, one-to-one meetings, site visits and a seminar.
