Preparation of the Suomi.fi authorization for applying for funding is underway

Business Finland is implementing on 18.3.2025* the Suomi.fi authorization for applying for funding. With this service, a company can authorize persons to act on its behalf in creating and submitting a funding application. The introduction of the authorization increases the security of transactions, as only a person with the right to sign for the company or who has been granted authorization can handle the company’s application matters.

The authorization service already operates in various authorities' and organizations' transaction services, where it must be verified who can act on behalf of a certain company. The so-called electronic power of attorney, or authorization, is created in the Suomi.fi web service. Authorizations are stored in a secure national authorization register. The Suomi.fi web service and authorizations are maintained by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV).

Starting from 18.3.2025*

"Starting from 18.3.2025 the Business Finland funding service will utilize Suomi.fi e-authorizations for applying for funding. Instructions for deploying the service are awailable here and at Funding online service website. It is advisable to familiarize yourself also on the Suomi.fi web page", hints Kati Lahtinen, Product Manager at Business Finland.

Change does not affect ongoing projects

"The change does not affect ongoing funded projects or their reporting. This applies only to companies´new applications and only to certain funding services", says Lahtinen.

The change does not affect research organizations.

Also coming for use in the My Business Finland service

The implementation of the Suomi.fi authorization is also being prepared for the My Business Finland service. My Business Finland is not part of the funding online service, so authorizations for My Business Finland will be given separately. News about this authorization implementation will be announced later.
